Hi, my name is Blackjack and I was surrendered to 4 Little Paws Rescue when my owner moved into a hotel in San Antonio Texas, and couldn't keep me. I am a scruffy male Shih Tzu & Chihuahua mix about 2 years old, weigh 14.5 lbs, and I’m a character. I may look ferocious showing my teeth, but I’m actually smiling, and coupled with an adorable underbite, my pearly whites are easy to see.

Excuse the pictures with my tongue hanging out but it was 100 degrees on picture day. Otherwise, I am a handsome little chap, friendly with people young and old, kitty cats, and I’m playful with other dogs, although I like to be the pack leader. My favorite toys are rope toys for games of tug-o-war and I enjoy going for walks around the neighborhood. I’m already housebroken and know how to use a doggy door, and although right now I sleep in a doggy bed in a room with other foster dogs, I would be happiest sleeping beside my people. I’m sweet and affectionate and well-behaved and I’m good when home alone when I have a rope toy to keep me busy.

PUPDATE... I just arrived in Connecticut to meet my new forever family, but they backed out before ever meeting me. Total bummer for them because I'm awesome! Their loss can be your gain. Please stop by and meet me so you can fall in love and take me home!
