My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a very calm soul who loves everyone and just enjoys being by your side? Meet Dolly!

Dolly is a super sweet, large hound mix with possibly some coonhound that we estimate is 2 years old and 75 lbs. Our Dolly gets along great with other dogs and has a submissive type personality. Dolly LOVES food and will track it down whenever she can so she should be easy to train. She would be a great hunting companion too as she tracks animals (ie squirrels) and waits and barks by the tree until her skills are acknowledged. She does like to chase cats so a no kitty household would be best.

This wonderful sweet soul is so happy when visitors come by to give her attention and she knows not to jump. She is very cuddly and seems to really like her entire foster family, including the dogs. At events she is always very calm and just waits for everyone to come up and say hi. Dolly loves adults, she is amazing with kids and was okay with the puppies coming and saying hi. Her foster mom thinks she would thrive in a home with another dog and several people to love her and take her on daily walks. If you think Dolly may be what you're looking for, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
