Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Meet the "O" Litter!
Oxford, 4 months (estimated DOB February 2024), male, Shepherd/Retriever mix, estimated to be a large size when full grown. He is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
Oxford and his siblings were born at a county shelter in rural Texas. A kind foster took them all home. We included a picture of mom for a point of reference, but we are not really sure all the breeds that make up this sweet pup.
He is one of four boys in this litter. He is very sweet, loves cuddles and affection.
He is not fully housebroken but is crated at night and does well.
He shares a home with cats, dogs and kids (ages 5-18). We would prefer to see him in a home with another well balanced dog who can continue to mentor, socialize and teach healthy skills. We always recommend a home with kids who respect and understand animal boundaries.
Oxford is looking for a home who has an understanding of raising puppies into adult hood. This can be prior experience or someone who will seek support as needed (training, friends/family). Puppies bring so much joy, but also need intentional and committed attention. They need help socializing with new people, other dogs, leash work and basic obedience.
Puppies under 6 months of age are placed on a spay/neuter contract until they are old enough to be altered.
For puppies this age, someone needs to be home more than they are away as crating them for long periods of time is not conducive for their developmental needs.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
