My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ready for a daily dose of adorableness? Say hello to Energizer, a white female bunny who’s got more charisma than a movie star and a fluffier coat than your grandma’s best sweater!

They may be small in size but don’t be fooled; Energizer packs a punch of personality that could rival a stand-up comedian. When Energizer isn’t busy charming everyone with their adorable personality, you’ll find them nibbling away at greens until their heart’s content. We’re talking about a true veggie connoisseur here!

Got a boring afternoon ahead? Not anymore! Energizer will turn it into a bunny bonanza with their antics. Whether it’s a game of hide-and-seek behind the sofa or a daring adventure into the laundry basket, there’s never a dull moment with this fluffball around!

How to Adopt:

Take your time getting to know the animal you wish to adopt. The pet you choose should be your pet for the rest of its life, so spend the time necessary to make the right choice. Our staff is happy to assist you in taking a dog out of the kennels or socializing with a cat in the cat room. We encourage each person in your household to get acquainted with an animal before it becomes a new member of your family. We also suggest you bring your present pets in for an introduction to the new animal to form some ideas about their compatibility. Our shelter is open Tuesday through Friday, 12-5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am-5 pm. In order to complete the adoption process, it is necessary to begin adoptions by 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

Our mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes, to partner with communities striving to do the same, and to advance our no-kill legacy.

We accomplish our mission by transferring cats and dogs to our facilities from public shelters in the Bay Area and beyond when they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations.

Pets In Need has shelters in Redwood City and Palo Alto. We have owned and operated our Redwood City shelter since 1993, and in 2019 we began operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter in partnership with the City of Palo Alto.

Pets In Need is now operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter. The City of Palo Alto still provides Animal Control Services for the cities of Palo Alto, Los Altos, & Los Altos Hills, CA
