My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koda is a sweet, mild mannered and relaxed boy. He is almost 4 yrs old, 67 lb Husky/Malamute and thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves kids and is okay with cats but should probably be the only dog in the house.  He definitely will need a 6ft fence, after all he is a husky.  He enjoys long walks and playing ball. Koda is kennel trained and potty trained but when he goes to a new home he will need a refresher until he learns where the door is he needs to go to.  He loves to spend time with his humans and would prefer you be around more than not. Come out and meet Koda to see if he fits well into your family life style.

The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.

Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.

*****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down to Online Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.

More about this rescue

We are a no kill shelter operating in Sarpy County, Nebraska, a suburb of Omaha. We re-home dogs, cats and small critters. We work with dogs that are typically on "death row" and take in dogs from kill shelters in KS, TX, MO and elsewhere, as needed. Our cats usually come from kill shelters with an occasional owner surrender under special circumstances. Critters are found a variety of ways.

We also provide boarding and grooming services at very reasonable rates.
