My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pennie and Kitten are an adorable and bonded, loving pair of manx kitties that came to Murci's Mission when their family could no longer care for them. They have an estimated birthdate of 06/19/2015.

They are both very friendly and outgoing. LOVE attention. Pennie is a bit more shy with strangers but very outgoing if she knows you. Kitten is best friends with anyone she sees. Both come when they are called, talk to you if you talk to them, very typical manx personalities. Kitten does sometimes "love bite" very gently, but worth noting so it doesn't startle anyone. Both are good with their litter box manners, and can cohabitate with dogs and children. They would make a lovely addition to any family with room in the home and heart for a pair of manx cats.

Each cat comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Their adoption fee as a pair is $50 and includes their medical records and a sample of the food they have been eating. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
