Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed.org/adoption-process

This is 3 year old Doberman, Penelope. She’s approx 65lbs and she sat in a high kill shelter (along with Sterling who is also available for adoption) for a month before we pulled her.

Unfortunately Penelope is the result of backyard breeders being greedy and dumping her when no longer needed. Shelter notes stated that she was pregnant when surrendered and birthed all 9 puppies within shelter walls only to have them euthanized due to lack of space.

Despite the grief she’s been through, Penelope’s kindness shows through. She is accepting of meeting new people with a gentle demeanor however will need slow introductions with new dogs.

Her ideal family will be understanding of Penelope’s journey and create a safe haven of space for her. They’ll be patient of introductions to new surroundings, take her on walks and celebrate her small victories as she builds more confidence and learns to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.

If you’d like to add Penelope to your family, please apply at https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.html
