Sometimes when we're out doing a TNR (trap-neuter-return) project, we come across a cat that's just too sweet to be released back outdoors and we take them into foster to get them ready for a home.
Pearl was not one of those cats.
But her caretaker was pretty fond of her and said if there was one cat we could tame and get into a home, he wanted it to be her.
Challenge accepted.
Man, this girl gave us a run for our money. She was about the crankiest little thing we'd ever brought home. She loved to spit and hiss at us, scratch us, bite us, stomp her feet when she wanted something, and she would scream at the top of her tiny lungs when she was displeased with something and that was often. So, so often. When we walked by her, she would splash water out of her bowl at us. If I'm being completely honest, there were days when I thought about taking her back.
But on the rare occasion that she was calm, she had the sweetest little meow. A meow that sounded like it came from a kitten barely old enough to make a sound. And she would look at me and tilt her head so innocently that we knew that somewhere in there ... tucked way, way down was a sweet little girl.
We were determined to find her. And we did.
These days little Pearl is a completely different cat. She loves to snuggle in all the softest blankets and will completely burrow in so she's completely covered. She loves getting all the pets and all the attention. She has turned into the sweetest little girl and loves living her pampered life. She is a princess. She is a diva. There is no doubt about that. She will still walk away and give herself a timeout if she feels she deserves a break from whatever nonsense is going on around her. But it doesn't take her long to come back for more snuggle time. She is playful and fun and a joy to be around.
Pearl will definitely need some to adjust to her forever home. It will take her some time to trust new people and to love them. She needs people who will love her just as she is ... the prettiest little diva around.
She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested FeLV/FIV negative. A grade 2 heart murmur was observed during her exam, but she has no symptoms at this time.
Adopters will receive an adoption package of goodies valued at around $100 if you visit one or both of our Petstore partners after adoption (Tabby & Jacks and All Paws).
