My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

playful yet calm and passed the midnight zoomies stage

Dairy Girl is a precious, friendly, mama kitty. She was rescued as a pregnant feral but was immediately loving the household pet routine.  She birthed her 6 gingers and is spayed & vetted. She is a vocal girl but not excessively. She is litter trained on wood pellets. She is approximately 12 months old.

She will make an excellent companion for someone needing the company of a calm, even tempered cat. She loves petting and being held. She enjoys sleeping at the foot of the bed and is passed the crazy midnight zoomies kitten stage!! But she is still playful and enjoys a scratching post and toys. She is probably a good mouser as well since she lived on her own for the first 6 months of her life.

Currently she is socializing with several other adult cats and a large passive dog. Occasionally she claims her space but overall she has adjusted very well to the household.

Full disclosure.... she snores, video attached, turn volume up ;)

Please contact DARS if you think Dairy Girl will be a good fit for your home.

Additional adoption info

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.
