BIO:  Maverick came from North Carolina when the family had a baby, and he was not adjusting to the new dynamics of the household. Maverick is on the nervous side so he will have to go a quieter home. He will bark at strangers coming into the home, but he is getting better. His adopter will have to understand that and give him time. He does want to protect his family.

At his foster mom’s home, he sleeps in a kennel at night. He doesn’t like going into it but will after some coaxing. He wants to bond with the female of the family, which is why we feel he needs to go to a female-only home and/or a patient man in the family. There is a man in Maverick's foster family, and he’s timid of him and will bark. He is getting better but still needs work.

Our must-haves for adorable Maverick Cash are:

  • A fenced yard a must
  • A woman-only home
  • A quiet home with few visitors
  • Absolutely no apartments, condos, high-rises, or duplexes

If you are looking for a wonderful little boy and you are female, then look no further! Maverick will be the boy for you but understand no children or grandchildren, and if there is a man in your life, Maverick will not want anything to do with him but will take time to win him over. He’s a woman's only kind a guy!

Apply today to adopt this handsome boy!

 ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.

Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All dogs are spayed/neutered/UTD on all shots/heartworm checked and treated if necessary and dental if necessary.
You do have to fill out an online adoption application at www.allamericandachshundrescue.org and we will do a phone interview, check your references and vet and we WILL DO a homevisit no matter what state you are in. To adopt a dachshund you must either have a fenced in yard. These are hunters and if you allow them to run free they will NOT come back or will be hit by a car or attacked by another dog. When you adopt the dog you are giving a two week trail period and if you feel you need more time we are happy to give that to you if you will notify us. We also make you sign a contract that is a legal and binding contract. Once you put in a application to adopt one of our fosters we will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If you have not heard from us in a week please e mail us as your app may have gotten lost. We also have the right to refuse to adopt to anyone that we feel would not make a good home for our Dachshunds. Please remember these dogs have been in at least 2-3 homes possible more and it could take the whole two weeks for them to adjust and possibly longer.

Go meet their pets

All of our dogs are in foster homes in TN, AL, NY, VA, PA, NC, SC, FL, MI and WI They can not be seen at any one place but all foster homes are happy to send you additional pictures or answer any questions you may have in regards to their fosters. We do not have any regular place that we go to to show off our dogs but if you are close to the foster home we will be glad to meet you somewhere to show you a or any dogs that you may be interested in once you fill out our online adoption application listed on our website.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit organization that rescues dachshunds from shelters, owner surrenders and fully vets them including dental and heartworm treated if needed and all health issues addressed before they are put on the website to be adopted. We do this due to the fact that there are so many Dachshunds out there that are bred and brought by people that don't know the breed and after they get the dog home and find out after a couple of months that they can't housebreak the dog and it's not good with their kids, they dump the dog in the shelters or if we are lucky they contacts us. Some Dachshund are not so lucky and get shifted to several homes or are sold to puppymills that bred them into the groud.
