My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Boone. I know what you're thinking. Another old pup coming into the shelter as a stray? Yup - that's me! It's sad really. No senior dog, or any dog for that matter, deserves to be in a shelter environment but yet, here I am. I am so calm and well-mannered, I really don't require much. Just a comfy bed, someone willing to give me all the pets and belly rubs I want, and maybe a yummy treat here and there! I do not need much exercise anymore. Maybe just a leisurely stroll down the block every once in a while. I do well with children, and I would do well with most dogs as well! Think you could be the one to let me live out the rest of my days in a home of my own? Come meet me here at the shelter!

HSSC places animals on a first come, first serve basis. After an animal that is available for adoption has been met with, the animal’s name can be put on an application. Animals that are applied for must be adopted the same day or within 24 hours of the animal being placed on the adoption application. Exceptions will be made if any animal needs a medical procedure, but then will need to be adopted within 24 hours of being cleared from that procedure. HSSC reserves the right to accommodate alternate timelines for special needs/behavioral issue animals.
It is the potential adopter's responsibility to communicate with their landlord to contact HSSC for approval or to provide documentation stating permission within 24 hours of application submission.
It is also the potential adopter's responsibility to produce a current rabies certificate for their current dog(s) to conduct a dog to dog meet and greet within 24 hours of application submission.
