My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Patches!

Patches was previously living as part of an established cat colony, but she came to TCR when neighbors of the colony caretakers began to complain about the number of cats in the neighborhood. Patches grew up relying on people for food, so she is no stranger to humans. Patches was a little skeptical of making new friends at first (she has perfected that nonplussed "look"), but now she is a sweet girl who enjoys being petted and doesn't even really mind being picked up!

Patches enjoys treats and snacks (especially Churu treats), and hanging out with some of the other cats from her colony who came to TCR alongside her. She would love to go home with one of them, or to a home with another welcoming cat friend she can pal along with. She may take a little time to warm up at first, so an adopter with a nice quiet room where she can adjust at the beginning would be best. She'd likely do just fine with older, cat-savvy kiddos, but small our very loud children would likely be a bit too much.

Patches is estimated to be about two years old. She has been spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Are you interested in a solid companion cat? Consider Patches!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
