My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet Tangerine! This stunning tortie is a healthy 5 year old and looking for a low energy home to call her own. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and FIV/FeLV negative.

Tangerine definitely appreciates having several cozy nooks to curl up in and observe from. She LOVES a good brushing and endless head and neck massages.  Toys don't seem to hold much interest for her, though she has developed a fondness for batting springy toys around the room.  A typical chatty tortie WITHOUT the typical "tortitude", her inquisitive meows will make for very engaging conversations.

Tangerine truly seems to prefer her solitude and being doted on by one or two humans. A home with no other pets and no children would be ideal. So, are you a low-key college student who prefers your own couch over a dance floor and are looking for a study buddy? Are you an introverted couple who want to connect with a like-minded kitty that will rejoice with you when friends cancel plans? Are you retired and in search of a retiring feline to shower with affection? Then Tangerine may be your girl!

More about this rescue

Red Clay Animal Rescue is a small but powerful force in the collective effort to end pet homelessness and suffering in the Savannah area. We are a licensed nonprofit organization with 501c3 status.

We provide care on a small scale (a few animals at a time) to homeless animals with treatable injuries or illnesses, usually from within the regional shelter system, who would otherwise be euthanized.
These pets are fostered until adoption, or placed with other local rescue organizations.

An additional priority includes facilitation of shelter-to-shelter transfers (from high kill/poor live release rate facilities with no medical care, to facilities with very high successful adoption rates). These transfers very frequently require that the pets receive some medical intervention (sterilization, infectious disease testing, vaccinations) before transfer.

We also use our funds to donate to other rescue groups in dire need, and to shelter/animal control facilities with little or no resources when they need help.

100% of donations go to help animals in need.
