My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chico is a spirited, 35-pound bundle of love and energy who’s searching for his perfect match! This goofy boy has a knack for giving the most endearing hugs, often burying his face into your lap or stomach for affection. He’s a toy enthusiast through and through, with a special fondness for carrying around his favorite stuffed companions.

Chico thrives on attention and affection, and while he’s learning to settle and embrace calm moments, he’ll need a home that understands his needs and is ready to help him on his journey. He’s made progress at the sanctuary, but his development will shine in a calm, consistent environment where he can truly relax and learn.

He’s best suited to a home with no other animals for now and would do wonderfully with a dog-savvy adopter who’s patient, loving, and ready to continue working on his training. Chico is bursting with love and energy, and he’s eager to learn that calmness will bring him all the positive attention he craves.

Chico’s ideal home is one where his humans are active, understanding, and willing to dedicate time to teaching him that the world is not only fun but also full of peaceful moments. If you’re ready for a little work and a lot of love, Chico will reward you with endless snuggles, playtime, and devotion.

Adopting from HEA

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS:
Adoption is a huge deal to us. We make a lifetime guarantee to our companions. In return, we’re asking you to provide a lifetime commitment once you’ve invited a pet to join your family. We’re excited that you're considering adoption. We look forward to working with you to find the right match!

TIMELINE:
Our primary objective is to assure the correct match for the people and the pets that we’re sending to their forever homes. Our goal is to send dogs and cats home as quickly as we can, while still being thorough. Processing times will vary and are largely dependent on our ability to connect with your references, landlord, and veterinarian. To keep the process moving along, please make sure you’ve done your part:
1) Fill out your application completely - missing information slows down the process.
2) Let your references know to expect our call.
3) If you rent, let your landlord know to expect our call.
4) If you currently have pets, ask your veterinarian to be prepared to release your records.

LIFETIME GUARANTEE:
We make a pact with every animal that enters our care: They’re promised a loving home for the rest of their life. In turn, when you make the commitment to adopt, we ask you to make a lifetime commitment. We believe family is forever.
