A Little Bit About Me

John Snow (aka Snowman) is quite dashing and has the personality to match! This guy is friendly, social, and playful. He loves to hang out with his humans, but is also independent. He enjoys an occasional snuggle with ear and chin massages, but will more likely plop down near you and close his eyes with a cheek rub. John Snow is affectionate on his own terms and is looking for an experienced guardian to prevent him from overstimulating. He would also like to be the only cat in his new home.

John Snow's favorite pastimes include wand toy play, batting around and piling up small toys like jingle balls, hide-and-seek in cardboard boxes, and fetch--he brings his ball back every time! Due to a previous injury, his back legs wobble a bit, but this does not slow him down! He's eager to use his agility and hunting skills in toy mouse capture! He was indoor/outdoor in his previous home and loves the outdoors, but he may be able to transition to nice big catio with lots of stimulation/enrichment. John Snow is a special cat and is looking for a home that is just as special!

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
