Hello, I'm Shadow!

I’m a gentle and loving 7-year-old Pyrenees mix, and I’m looking for my forever home. I have been told that I am such a good girl! I heard one of these shelter people say that I am sweet and gentle - I agree! I recently transferred to It Takes a Village from a partner shelter. Before I ended up at the shelter, I lived in a home with children and that family had me since I was born. But, I’m excited to find my new family. I’m a spayed female who gets along well with other dogs. I am not a fan of cats though. At 7 years young, I’ve got plenty of love and loyalty to share. I am a bigger gal at 75 pounds, but that is just more of me to love! If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle giant to join your family, I might be just the one you’re looking for! We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $160 to $185. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
