My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper is a 7-year-old hound with a personality as big as his heart. This laid-back guy may love lounging on the couch, but don't let his chill demeanor fool you-he's got plenty of energy to spare, especially when it comes to snacks! Cooper is all about enjoying life to the fullest, and he's always up for a fun time, whether it's a relaxing nap or a leisurely walk around the block.

A true social butterfly, Cooper is always excited to meet new friends. He's vocal about his enthusiasm, giving you all the love and attention you could ever need. He'll happily chat with you (and maybe even sing you a song or two!) as you bond over snacks, belly rubs, and good times. And when it comes to walks, Cooper is a champ on the leash-making every stroll a breeze.

While Cooper is definitely a fan of playtime and socializing, he's equally happy to curl up beside you for a good snuggle session once the fun is over. He's house-trained, easygoing, and eager to find a home where he can share his goofy charm and laid-back attitude with his new family.

If you're looking for a friendly, fun-loving companion who will always bring a smile to your face, Cooper is the perfect match. Whether it's hanging out on the couch or going for a walk, Cooper is ready to be your best friend and make every day a little brighter.

Come meet this lovable hound today-Cooper can't wait to find his forever home!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of North Central Florida was created in 2018 when the leadership of the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue decided to permanently join forces. By becoming the Humane Society of North Central Florida, our organizations were able to effectively streamline services for pets and pet owners, eliminate any duplication of services, maximize our community’s resources, and improve the life-saving abilities of the entire region.

Our founding organizations have been dedicated to serving pets in Alachua County for more than 40 years. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is a limited intake, no-kill animal rescue shelter. The animals in our facility are transferred from open-intake and/or managed admission municipal shelters across North Central Florida. The Humane Society of North Central Florida is an independent, local 501(c)(3) organization. As such, we do not receive funding from federal agencies, nor are we affiliated with any other state or national organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA.
