My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mable is a name suited for the sweet neighbor who always has warm cookies ready and our Mable here is giving that same feeling. Estimated to be about 3 years old,Mable has a calm that typically only comes with age. With her affectionate nature and calm energy she is a true stress reliever. No matter what the day could throw at you, Mable will be ready and waiting to help ease the stress away. She is a petite 36 lbs of calm and peaceful companionship. One of my favorite things about Mable is her contentedness, happy to join you around the house and share space in your company. You won’t need to entertain her and she won’t be pestering you for endless games of catch. A cozy corner on the couch, a few toys, and you is all she needs to be happy. Take a peak at her sweetness in motion then come back to read more about her!

Mable has been fortunate to be fostered in a loving home which has given her a wonderful head-start on being house-trained. When I say house-trained that is not just potty trained- that is the in’s and out's of living in a home. From greeting guests to sharing toys, she has learned the rhythm of a home and it looks good on her. Plus, she is potty-trained, in case I hadn’t said it clearly! When she gets home she will need a tour of her potty places and even a reminder or two but that’s about it.

The way Mable approaches you for a connection and affection can come off as her being a bit shy but after spending time with her I can tell you, she is slow and gentle, but not shy. She is confident but approaches love slowly. It almost feels like she is sensing your warmth and availability before she gives you her love. Everyone gets some but a few get more or even the most.

With her calm demeanor and quiet disposition, Mable is going to be a wonderful companion to you, your family and the extended family of animals in your home. She feels comfortable in the company of other dogs, reading them well, while initially being a bit aloof with her presence. This quality makes her an easy fit for most any dogs. A home with a calm, friendly companion would be a dream! Thanks to her size and incredibly calm and content nature, Mable doesn't need much- a cozy home or apartment, occasional walks or a small yard to explore, but mostly- a warm heart to call hers. She is easy on leash and is happy to keep pace with her handler, no need for miles with her, blocks are just fine.

Her adoring face and expressive ears are only part of her charm, the rest comes for her presence. She has an adoring face, a gentle soul and is looking for the warmth and companionship of a fur-ever home. Her quiet charm and loving loyalty is going to feel like such a gift!

If you have any questions about Mable or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
