My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Certified Lover-Boy, certified good boy! Meet Freddy, the handsome bobansome man with ALL the wiggles you can imagine! At about 4 years old, and a hefty 72 lbs, every single OZ made of LOVE! Freddy will do amazing in just about ANY home, he's truly the most outgoing, lovely boy you'll EVER meet! He's also got his basics down, from the simple commands, to being house-broken! He does AMAZING with other dogs, kids, and cats; making him such a GREAT family boy! Paired by his exuberance for life, is his gentle, charming nature; he seriously couldn't be anymore perfect! Freddy is the type of dog that would LOVE to join you on hikes, play fetch, even swimming in the kiddy pool! But don't get him wrong, he's got a knack for cuddling, too!

My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter!

Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!

Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. The animal's welfare is our first and only priority, in doing so, they are moved from the shelter into their respective homes as quickly, & humanely as possible to remove the risk of undergoing extreme stress, immune system compromission, & behavioral concerns.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
