In a quaint corner of suburbia lives a pint-sized peanut named Toad, whose diminutive stature belies a spirit as vast as the cosmos. Standing proudly at just a foot tall and boasting a fur coat that seems in constant disarray, Toad is the quintessential scruffy underdog with a heart of gold.
From the moment he was adopted, Toad charmed his way into the hearts of all who met him. His endearing habit of emitting curious, R2-D2-like noises earned him the nickname "Toad-2-D2," a fitting moniker for a pup whose vocalizations range from cheerful beeps to questioning whistles.
Toad's days are a whirlwind of adventure and curiosity. Whether he's exploring the backyard jungles or gallivanting through the living room asteroid field of furniture, his boundless energy and insatiable curiosity know no bounds. Every sock left unattended becomes a trophy, every stick a potential lightsaber in his tiny paws.
Despite his mischievous tendencies, Toad has a heart as big as the Death Star (minus the destruction, of course). His loyalty to his humans is unwavering, always ready to offer comforting cuddles after a long day's battle with the forces of mundane life.
Toad's story is a reminder that heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and sometimes they're found in the unlikeliest of places-like a tiny, scruffy dog whose joyful R2-D2-esque noises echo through the galaxy of his human family's hearts.

More about this shelter
CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.
CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
