My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I'm Armando, and I'm on the lookout for a family that's ready to dive into a life full of fun and adventures with me. My friends say I have a big personality packed into a small package. I'm a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making new dog friends. My wagging tail is always ready to greet you, and my playful spirit is eager to join in any game or activity.

One of my absolute favorite things to do is play tug of war with my best buddy, Rolando. We make an unstoppable team and have a blast every time we play. But don't let that make you think I'm just about playtime-I'm also a champion snuggler and will happily curl up next to you for some cozy downtime.

While I have a special bond with Rolando, I'm excited about the possibility of finding my very own forever home. I'm ready to spread my wings and bring my joyful energy into a new family. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep your days lively and your heart full, let's meet and see if we're a perfect match! (or if you are looking for a ready made pair of buddies, take us both!)

More about this shelter

The Animal Defense League was established in 1934 by a group of individuals, “for the prevention of cruelty to animals; to promote kind and humane treatment of animals; and to aid and assist the enforcement of laws enacted for the prevention of animal cruelty.”

In 1961, ADL moved to its present location in the easily accessible northeast part of San Antonio. Its campus encompasses more than 12 acres and includes a two-acre pet park. On the property is an Adoption Center with a small retail store, and a separate 5,000 square-foot Clinic which houses our veterinary hospital that provides onsite spay/neuter surgery, surgery for injured and ill animals, and ongoing medical care for all ADL resident animals.
