Hi, I'm Linc!! I ended up in TX animal control as a stray when I was just a young guy, but no one ever claimed me, and I've been waiting over a year to find my place in the world. I'm a gorgeous boy who is about 2 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. I'm happy to be in a foster home, but I'm still adjusting to being seen by strangers. It takes me a bit to trust new people or large gatherings, but I never growl or show aggression, I just avoid or ignore. Once I know I can trust you, I am super affectionate! I love getting pets, and will sit by your side just enjoying your attention. I've mostly house trained, crate trained, walk great on a leash, and am learning car rides mean trips to fun place!! I make dog friends easily, for a long time they were my only family! I share food, toys and treats easily with dogs and humans too. I haven't met any kids or cats yet since I just got here, so I'm not sure how I'd do with them. True to my breeds, I'm very smart, and learn quickly, though I do have a stubborn streak, so you better mean what you say! I love a couple of good walks a day, and am spending lots of time in my foster's fenced yard hunting and protecting us from all the furry and feathered things!! And jumping into the puppy pool on a hot day feels great. But when I've had my fun, I'm happy lounging in the sun or at your feet. Do you think you could give me a chance to show you the real me?!? If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application at rescuegang.org/adopt.
Step 1: Submit an Adoption Application.
An adoption is not considered without a completed application. This step will let us know if your household is what our animal needs to feel safe and comfortable!
Step 2: Background Check, Landlord Check, Vet Check
We will check to make sure that you do not have any violent charges, are allowed pets where you live, and will check with your vet to make sure your animals have remained up to date on testing, vaccinations, and checkups.
Step 3: Meet and Greet
If approved, our adoption coordinator will set you up with the foster parent’s contact information. It is up to you to call the foster parent and schedule a meet and greet.
Step 4: Home Visit
One of our volunteers will come to your house and conduct a home visit with the help of a checklist.
Step 5: Adoption Decision
Rescue Gang will decide if both parties would make a great fit for each other! If so, we can go about finalizing your adoption! Please keep in mind that an approved application does not necessarily mean that you *are* going to be able to adopt the animal you applied for.
Please note:
An approved application means that your have passed the initial screening process and may proceed to the following steps. The animal you are interested in may have more than one application and may have already found his/ her forever home before you are able to meet. In that case, your application will remain active for 90 days
