My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Draco was brought in by a community member.

Why Draco might be the one for you:
Draco has become such a staff and volunteer favorite that he was recently chosen as a Volunteer Favorite Dog and the staff concurred. It is easy to see why. Draco is a handsome and smart guy who quickly figured out how to make himself a favorite. One volunteer stated that he is one of the most perfect dogs she has met. He is easy to leash, he loves to get in the car and go on adventures and then he returns and settles down right next to his person and wants pets and hugs. Sometimes he goes on walks with other dogs and volunteers and he does fine with both. One of his favorite things is to go in the car for a puppacino (pup cup). He thinks they are so good. Are you ready for a really good dog who wants to be your companion for playing and cuddling? If so, bring a leash and come to meet this staff and volunteer favorite. If you take Draco home, be prepared for a sendoff by staff who will be so happy to see Draco go to his new family - although they will miss him.

At SDHS:
Draco has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
