My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by their previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Gracie who is cuteness overload but Gracie has strong preferences. She knows what she likes and does not like. What she likes is to be the only pet in the household. You may call it spoiled or entitled but Gracie thinks it is normal and it is what she wants and who wants to argue with a cute dog like Gracie. Grace is partially housebroken and we can help you finish that job because she is smart and knows what is expected of her. She is a follower to her human(s). Look back and you will have Gracie trotting behind you or next to you. She will lean into you for pets which morph quickly into her rolling over so you can rub her belly. She can be a picky eater which we can help you change because she needs a healthy and more varied diet. We are working with her on that and will share with you what has helped. Do you have a home void of pets but in need of one dog who can be a diva? Do you want a cute diva who will be "your" dog and make you feel like the most important person in the world? If so, come to meet Gracie. She wants to show you her rollover and get some belly rubs. Take a diva home?

At SDHS:

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
