Sushi is a 2 year old Maltese x Poodle mix who is ready to serve up hand rolls of cuteness and kisses! Sushi was surrendered to our rescue by a good citizen who rescued her and her babies from a dirty yard. We promised to find this little family a safe place to land before they headed off to their forever homes. They rolled right into fosters and have been living it up ever since. Sushi was an amazing Mama and now she’s ready to find a home ready to adore her. She has a light shedding coat that will require grooming but she may not be an option for those with allergies. What are you waiting for? Order up some Sushi today!

Sushi is a gal with a heart that is just bursting out of her body with all the love she has to show the world. Sushi loves her people and will faithfully follow you to the ends of the Earth once you gain her trust. She loves belly rubs and will give you endless kisses as you shower her in love. She has a tail that never stops wagging and will give you a bright smile when she is happy. Sushi would love a home that wants a Sushi-shaped pillow on their bed, as she just wants to be near you all the time! With a face as cute as hers, it’s hard to resist. Sushi will need some time to adjust to her new home (the world is very big when you are a petite pup), but with a loving home we know she will thrive. Sushi is very smart and loves to check out the world around her. She would love running errands with you, as long as she gets her pup cup when you pick up an iced coffee! Sushi’s dream home would have lots of plush beds for lounging, treats for enjoying, and hands for petting. She deserves the very best life after a rough start in a dirty yard. This girl knows humans can be amazing, and we can’t wait to find her that perfect forever family.

Sushi starts her morning at 7 AM with a big stretch before she follows her foster outside to monitor the plant watering. She gets a long morning walk before the heat picks up for her potty and morning sniffs. She eats breakfast at 9 AM and then spends most of her morning napping in her various comfy spots around the house. She goes outside a few times during the morning and afternoon for potty breaks. She gets a snack at around 2 PM before she heads back to her lounge spot. Once her foster family wraps up their workday, she gets another walk around 5:30 PM. After she eats dinner, she gets some cuddle time on the couch as she catches up on her TV shows. Sushi goes out for one last walk at 10 PM and then heads to bed at 11 PM. She sleeps through the night in her pen on her blanket.

Sushi gets along well with other dogs of all ages and sizes provided they have a calm introduction. She is a bit shy when she meets new people, but they can win her over with treats and then she curls up on their lap. Sushi walks well on a leash but sometimes needs correction when she gets distracted by nature. She is fully house trained and will not potty in the home. Sushi can see TV screens and loves watching squirrels and dogs on Youtube. What a ham! Sushi can’t wait to meet you and make you fall in love with her.

Sushi is only an option for homes with prior dog owning experience, especially with shy dog experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 12.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
