Hi, I'm Waffles and I'm so happy to meet you! I'm a social butterfly who gets along with other dogs and people of all ages. Besides being handsome, my personality is goofy, energetic and affectionate. I'm your basic goober of a pitbull who falls in love with anyone who gives me attention. My energy level is high, but I fizzle out after about 20 minutes of play with a dog friend. I know how to chill with my peeps, but I've got to get my zooms out first. I'm eager to please and food motivated so training with me should be a breeze. My new home can have other dogs, but they have to be ok with my zest for life and playstyle, but it can't have cats. 1.
Submit Application

Review our adoption process and complete our new online pet application. If you need assistance, call us or visit our Adoption Center!

2.
Approve Application

If you have had pets in the past 10 years, we will do a vet check and we will check with your landlord or HOA that you can have the pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

Once approved, everyone in your home will need to meet the pet. Also, any existing dog will need to meet a dog you want to adopt.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

We will ask you to sign an adoption contract and pay our adoption fee - a schedule of fees is on our website.

We have one Adoption Center at 1901 W. Ogden Ave., Downers Grove, IL. Please come in to complete our pet application or fill it out online and we will contact you to schedule an appointment to meet our awesome dogs and cats!

The West Suburban Humane Society (WSHS) is a volunteer-based, no-kill animal rescue that was founded in 1972 in the western suburbs of Chicago. WSHS now finds homes for more than 500 dogs and cats each year!

WSHS is 100% funded by individual, corporate, and private foundations donations, and has over 450 active volunteers! WSHS is caring for about 200 animals at any given time.
