Meet Tucker!
If Tucker were a person he’d be the proper southern gentleman, with his glass of sweet tea, sitting on his front porch swing in the sun, happily greeting everyone who strolls by and then pulling them in for a chit-chat and cookies. Tucker loves all people and happily greets all people, friends and strangers. Tucker has the most soulful eyes and wastes no time reaching deep into your soul with his Dobby the House Elf puppy dog eyes - none can resist his look. He is a master lover and thrives on physical touch. When you’re standing, he presses his head into your knees, if you’re sitting he climbs up on your lap for hugs. Tucker unfailingly runs to the front door to greet you with wags, whines, and howls of affections, no matter how long you’ve been gone. He loves to sleep in a sunny spot from the comfort of the couch. Tucker is pretty low energy and would prefer to mosey around the backyard, he finds walks to be a bit overwhelming, and he’s not a fan of most other dogs. Being a true hound he has the beautiful deep hound bay howl, which he vocalizes sparingly. Also being a true hound he will chase anything little and fuzzy, he is solid muscle of a dog and has quite a lot of spritely energy when the chase calls for it. He is a perfect gentleman in the house, impeccably house trained and will happily sleep in until whenever you’re ready to get up for breakfast. Tucker has a very clear distinction between what is a dog toy, which will get shredded with ease, and everything else which he is very respectful of and will not chew. He has perfect house manners and learned house rules very quickly. He enjoys good food, especially steak and chicken, and wants nothing more than to be near his person.
Tucker needs a home with a yard, kids over 10. He has lived with another dog before (Dublin) but will be happy living as an only dog also. His adoption fee is usually $395, but 50% is sponsored by a Good Samaritan.
We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
