Meet Gertie! Gertie is looking for a forever home. Until she finds one, she is chilling in a loving forer home! Her foster mom reports, "The amount of personality in this little girl is incredible! When we first brought her home, it was like she walked in the door and offered to tour US around. The house was hers immediately. She’s confident and spunky and just the best entertainment. Gertie has a really lovely coat with the dark tabby blotches interspersed with white. My kids love Gertie and take turns having her hangout with them. Gertie has been raised around dogs and doesn’t seem to realize how much smaller she is than them. She’ll be weaving around their legs or sharing the ottoman for some mutual squirrel watching. We have really enjoyed our time with Gertie and are so excited that she’s finally ready to get a family of her own." We require all adopters to complete an application and pay an adoption fee. Adoption fees vary, but are usually $160 to $185. We may do a vet reference check and/or home visit.

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
