My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bernard is a true lover and loves to cuddle and give kisses to everyone! He’s only 10 months old but very calm for his age! I`d say he is medium energy. This is a great age because he`s past the high maintenance puppy stage, but he is still young enough to train and make great habits!

We guess that he is part blue heeler, part german shepherd, and maybe part husky? He`s absolutely stunning and gets compliments everywhere we go!

He’s 100% potty trained, and he has never had an accident in our home.

He is very social and great with people. We have brought him to work with us every day and he`s become the building celebrity! He rests by our desks all day as happy as can be.

He is such an angel in the car. He goes to sleep in the back. He has never whined or paced. He is extremely content during car rides. Sometimes he`s too tired to jump in after a long day at work and insists we lift him (still a baby for sure).

He is very quiet overall. I think he has barked maybe twice since we have had him. Not a vocal dog at all.

He’s amazing on the leash after just a few days of training! He walks right by our side with no pulling (unless he sees squirrel or dog - very excited)

He knows sit, down, and stay. He knows to lay down by our feet when we are eating in public and he doesn`t get up until we do. He has not shown any intense begging for food.

He sleeps in his kennel from 9pm to 9am as he still needs lots of sleep! He rests in our second bedroom alone after work and he has never destroyed anything in our home. He`s past the puppy destructive phase!

We have taken him to petco, restaurants, white rock lake, and our work building. He is fantastic with people and shows lots of excitement with dogs and will need further training to remain calm!

He is very responsive to positive training and loves being rewarded with verbal praise and physical affection. We noticed he does not love negative reprimands (such as `no` in an angry tone) or his collar to be tugged. This boy might have had a tough past so love and positivity is the way!
