Dog Name: Lola

Sex: Female

Estimated Breed Mix: American Staffie

Approximate Age: 2 years

Approximate Weight: 45 lbs

Description: Lola had quite the trip from TX to WI - she birthed 5 puppies all by herself in her crate on the ride up!

She was a great mama to her pups. Now that the pups are in different homes, we're learning about her as an individual.

She ABSOLETELY LOOOVES children- she's particularly fond of her foster's 5 year old son. She looks at him with such love and adoration in her eyes.

She's currently a bit timid. Loud noises or fast movements startle her a bit. She's being slowly introduced to her fosters' dogs. Thus far she's nervous meeting medium/large dogs. She's done ok with on-leash introductions.

She recently had a playdate with friend of her foster's dog and did wonderfully! It just goes to show what time, patience and work can do to help dogs like Lola.

Lola knows 'sit' and does well with 'come' and 'no.' She listens to human correction VERY well! She's also housebroken.

Some of her favorite things are bones, stuffed and squeaky toys. She enjoys a roomy crate- will go in and out happily as long as it's not too small. She will not willingly go into a crate she deems too small.

She dislikes cantaloupe and watermelon.

She is a VERY happy and loving girl who loves her humans with every fiber of her being. She needs VERY slow intro with other dogs. She is smiling 95% of the time. Anytime she isn't smiling she's either sleeping (sometimes even smiling in her sleep), outside distracted sniffing the yard, or howling with sirens passing by helping spread the word that help is on the way! She is the SWEETEST dog and would be completely fine being the only dog in the home. It would just mean she would get all the love and affection to herself, which she would LOVE! She does the cutest toe tappies when she's super happy or excited.

Adoption Fee: $350

We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433

***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians.

Our Weight Classes are as follows:
0- 25lbs - Small
26- 45lbs - Medium
46-89 - Large
90+ X-large

If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped.

If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered by your veterinarian when they are 6 months to 1 year or age. Proof that the spay/neuter has been completed will need to be submitted to Tailwaggers911. Once proof of the spay/neuter has been received, we will refund $100 of your adoption fee via Venmo, PayPal or have a check in the mail within 15 days.  at one of our preferred clinics.

Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home.

If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home.

If a dog is listed as ADOPTION IN PROCESS, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all.

Please go to
WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out.

Additional adoption info

To begin our adoption process, please visit http://www.tailwaggers911.com/howtoadoptapet.htm - there you can read more about our policies, our adoption area and fill out an online application. The applications are good for 90 days.

After being approved, you will receive an email and if the dog you are interested in is available, the foster for the dog will be in contact to set up a meet and greet to determine if this is the correct dog for your family/lifestyle. If so, you could begin our mandatory 5 day foster to adopt trial period, and if you decided to adopt, we would set up your home visit.
