My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Babs is a sweet happy girl that came from a shelter in Texas. She's approximately 1 year old and 26 lbs. She's a Heeler/Terrier mix, and has the sweetest personality and face! She has become very attached to her foster mom and follows her around like a little shadow. She craves lots of attention, cuddling, and belly rubs! She does great though with both her foster mom and dad, and the attachment may get better as she gains more confidence. She loves going on walks, and does great on a leash with a harness! She is learning and has become interested in ball/fetch, and is a dog that should get daily exercise. She requires a fenced in yard, that is not a wrought iron fence, as she can fit her skinny body through narrow spaces. She is dog friendly but can be in a household where she is the only dog, as long aa she receives the affection she craves. She has not been tested with cats or kids, but would probably be good with an older kid 10+. She sleeps through the night in her kennel in her foster parents room. Knowing they are there makes her happy and her tail starts wagging the moment her foster parents get up. She is working on being kennel trained during the day and does cry when left alone in the kennel. She should be in a household where her human is home most of the day, and can give her the proper attention and exercise she needs. She is potty trained and has not had any accidents in the foster house, however she will need training on how to let her human know she needs to go out. Currently, her foster family proactively takes her out every few hours, but she can go all through the night. She is working on learning basic cues and some manners when it comes to jumping, however she is very treat motivated and is eager to learn. Babs is spayed, utd on vaccines, HW-, and chipped. If you are interested in meeting Babs and giving her a forever home you can complete our application as the first step at   https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  . We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home including pets. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.

More about this rescue

CO Corgis and Friends is a 501 c3 dog Rescue (specializing in Corgis and other lowrider breeds) that was formed in late 2019 by a group of Corgi loving people who not only love and understand the Corgi breed, but love all other dogs as well. The founding members have over 100+ years of experience owning Corgis and 50+ years in Rescue. It is our pleasure to help homeless dogs in need, help struggling owners rehome their pets, and offer advice on training issues typical of this herding breed. Please feel free to contact us to see if we can help!
Our mission is to help find Corgis and other breeds loving forever homes, share our knowledge of the Corgi breed through outreach and education, help reduce the pet population by promoting spay/neuter, and educating the community about responsible pet care and relationships.
