My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well, hello there, human! I'm Meownt Rushmore, the monumental lap cat who’s got a purr-sonality as big as my name! My life revolves around two essential activities: snuggling and being petted. Anything outside of that? Not my purr-oblem! When I'm not busy being your personal furry blanket, you’ll find me turning the entire house into my playground. If it moves, I’ll bat it; if it doesn’t, I’ll bat it anyway—just to keep things interesting.  I’m not just a lap cat, I’m a social purr-ty animal! I’m an equal opportunity snuggler, always ready to warm any lap that’s available. When I'm not terrorizing your household objects with my paws of playfulness, I’ll be wherever you are, because what’s life without a little feline shadow?  But beware, my snuggles can sometimes lead to full-on burrowing expeditions under your covers. So if you’re ready to have your heart stolen by a mischievous, cuddly conqueror who’ll leave you in stitches with laughter (and maybe a few claw marks), I’m your girl! Meownt Rushmore, reporting for snuggle duty!

Go meet their pets

We will be holding adoption event days with PetSmart on Ft Jackson Blvd and Two Notch Rd as well as PetSense on Garners Ferry Rd. These are partnerships that we've initiated and that have been greeted with open arms by these great organizations. MUCH More to Come!

More about this rescue

At Cat Around Town Project, we believe that by spaying and neutering as many stray and colony cats as possible, we are proactively controlling overpopulation at its source. All kittens and any cats that are adoptable are removed from the colonies and adopted to suitable homes. One day, when the supply meets the demand, there will be a home waiting for every kitten in our community. .
