My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Agnes has a calm adoration that typically only comes with age. Her eyes are mesmerizing but its the love and the ask to be loved back that makes them sparkle. She is a petite thing, easy enough to pick up when needed, 45 lbs of calm and peaceful companionship. One of my favorite things about Agnes is her contentedness, happy to share space in your company. You don’t need to entertain her and she won’t be pestering you for endless games of catch.

This gentle soul can be a bit shy at first, but once she sees your warmth, she opens up, and immediately becomes your adoring gal. She has such a loving nature. See her love in motion in her profile video then come back to learn a bit more
With her calm demeanor and people adoring nature, Agnes is going to make a great companion! She doesn’t need the company of another dog, she is confident and is such a people-dog, her family will be what fills up her love tank.

She is currently fostered in a home with other dogs, big and small, and her foster has shared that she gets along well with them though it is more like co-existing with the other dogs. The more calm, aloof dogs are who Agnes gravitates towards. Agnes would tell you she has all the love you’ll need from a dog, no need for more! A feline friend is another story, thats a different kind of love. She met our house cat and was respectfully distant and aloof. Her foster family has also shared that Agnes is incredibly respectful of their backyard chickens- no prey drive here. So if you have happen to have free-range chickens you won't have to worry that Agnes is going to fuss with them.

In rescue we cannot know age or breed with any guarantee but believe she may be a dutch shepherd/retriever mix, and she is estimated to be about 2 years old. Thanks to her size, great leash manners, and her calm, content nature, Agnes would be a great candidate for apartment life! Cozy home to loft-life, Agnes will be happy as long as you are there!

She has an adoring face and is looking for the warmth and companionship of a fur-ever home. Her quiet charm and loving loyalty is going to feel like such a gift! Adopt Agnes today and know the depth of rescue love waiting in her!

If you have any questions about Agnes or would like us to test her for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure she is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
