My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Andre Braugher is a true sweetheart and the most laid-back cat we’ve ever met! He will charm your socks off with his big purr, nearly silent meow, and friendly but persuasive requests for cuddles. With not a single sassy bone in his body, Andre is a very gentle soul. He loves to be by our side and enjoys sleeping with his humans with his head on a pillow just like us.

A Project M.E.O.W. volunteer found Andre hanging with a group of other cats outside in real bad shape - he was sneezy, had an ear and mouth infection, a broken hip, and was very underweight. But with lots of love, treats, vet care, and a few months of recovery, Andre is now in great health!

At five years old, Andre is so happy to be a fully indoor cat and is learning to play and recently discovered the joys of zoomies! Overall, though, he’s an extremely mellow cat who mostly likes to snooze and snuggle.

Andre is FIV+, but because of his sweet disposition and the fact that he has no teeth (they were removed due to his mouth infection), he can (and currently does) live with other kitties who are FIV- with no risk of transmission. With good care, he will live a long and happy life! And don’t worry about the teeth (he doesn’t!) - he can eat normally. He's up to date on his shots and litter box trained.

Andre would be a great cat for any family. He’s easygoing with other cats. He’s not a fan of dogs who bark a lot, but he isn’t aggressive and would do well with dogs who are quiet and laid back like him.

Andre Braugher is around 5 years years old and is neutered, FeLV negative, FIV postivie, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Andre is cuddly, friendly, gentle, loyal, and quiet.

* You must be 18 or older to adopt. If you’re under 18, you must have a parent or guardian submit an application on your behalf.
* All cats must be kept indoors. In special circumstances, we may waive this requirement on a case-by-case basis.
* We do not adopt to any home that will declaw an animal. Declawing is cruel and unnecessary.
* All cats/kittens must be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
* Kittens under 6 months must be adopted in pairs or into a home with another active cat or cat-friendly dog.
* Your adoption fee helps to cover a small part of the costs of veterinary care. However, we strongly recommend that you take your new kitty to your vet for a check-up shortly after adopting to establish a relationship and a lifetime of regular check-ups and care.
