My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luke Skywalker!

Luke Skywalker is a courageous and adventurous light orange tabby with adorable white mittens that make him look extra charming. This brave little explorer is always up for a new adventure, whether it's chasing after toys or investigating every nook and cranny of his surroundings.

But don't let his fearless nature fool you-Luke also has a heart of gold and absolutely adores snuggling up with his human friends. He craves interaction and loves to be in the company of people and other cats alike, making him the perfect companion for a loving household.

Luke Skywalker dreams of finding a forever home where he can share his daring escapades and cozy snuggle sessions with someone special. If you're considering adoption, he would be over the moon to be adopted alongside one of his siblings, Leia or Han Solo, whom he loves dearly.

Kittens in Pairs
Did you know kittens do better in pairs? It's true! When kittens are raised together, they play, sleep and learn together. They look out for each other, and keep each other company while you are away. This makes taking care of them much easier for you, and results in happier, better adjusted cats with fewer behavior issues overall. Plus, there's twice as much love and fun waiting for you when you come home! If you have no other cats in your home, or even if you do, please consider taking home two kittens instead of just one. You'll be glad you did!-info from KC Pet Project

More about this rescue

The Heart of America Humane Society is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit organization helping to place shelter and foster animals into permanent homes in and around the greater Kansas City metro area.

Our goal is to save and improve the lives of Kansas City's homeless companion animals by promoting responsible pet ownership. The Heart of America Humane Society (HAHS) partners with the Lee's Summit Animal Shelter (Lee's Summit MO) and KCK Animal Services (Kansas City KS) to increase pet adoptions into responsible, permanent homes.

Background
Our organization does not have a permanent facility or paid staff, so many of our adoptions take place at PetSmart stores and occasionally through other event venues. Some events raise awareness and bring in donations for our animal support efforts, while others help acknowledge and show appreciation for our own volunteers (who perform all duties outside of their regular jobs). Visit our website to learn more about us at heartofamericahs.org.
