Hi there, I'm Sport! As my name suggests, I'm all about action and excitement. I'm always eager for new adventures and having fun. Snacks and yummy treats are my biggest weakness! When I get super excited, I might need a gentle reminder to chill out. I'm still working on my playful manners! Until I reach that point, staff recommends a home with no toddlers/tiny humans. I can be dog selective of my playmates. I've done well with dogs who are clear about being friendly and eager to play. My compatibility with cats is unknown. If my floppy ears haven't captured your heart yet, my energetic and bubbly personality will. Come meet me and let's see if we're a perfect match!

WHO WE ARE

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) (formerly the Tippecanoe County Humane Society) was founded in 1939 by a group of local animal lovers in Tippecanoe County. Since its beginning more than 60 years ago, the organization has been dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.

We are not a government agency, are not affiliated with any national organization, and we are not a United Way Agency. We are an open-admission shelter and we accept all animals in need, regardless of age, health or adoptability. As a local non-profit we exist through the generosity of our community.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS), care deeply about the comfort and rights of animals and citizens within our area. As such, we strive to enhance the relationship between people and animals through education, to control the pet population through responsible advocacy, and to provide sanctuary for unwanted, lost, and neglected animals.

NON-PROFIT STATUS

The Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) is an independent, nonprofit agency. We are not funded by any governmental or national animal welfare organization. We are a private, non-profit 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals, relief of suffering among animals and the extension of humane education, and we are governed by a volunteer board of directors.
