Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Sally was one of over two dozen rabbits that had to be rescued from a property where they had long been abandoned. Neighbors tried their best to keep everyone fed, but ultimately it came down to many bunny-safe rescues and shelters in the area to help. Bunny Lu was able to help rehabilitate these bunnies, and we ended up with two here at the rescue, Sally and Samantha. Now that they have gone through all the necessary prerequisites, such as spaying, health checks, and socialization, they are ready to find their furever homes!
Of the two bunnies, Sally is a bit more weary of humans (understandably so). However, she has never been aggressive towards us, she is just very shy. Sally does eventually learn to trust the humans who are bringing her food and keeping her safe. Also, Sally does have a bit of a medical condition from before we were able to save her. She has a condition called eyelid agenesis, which is a birth defect where her eyelid never fully formed. This does not seem to bother her at all, but it does mean one of her eyes appears smaller than the other.
Sally would do very well in a calm, peaceful furever home where she can learn how to be a house rabbit, instead of a rabbit who was stuck out in a shed in a cage that was barely bigger than her.

More about this rescue
Bunny Lu Adoptions, Inc. is a volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) domestic rabbit rescue and education organization located in Waynesboro, Virginia. We are dedicated to educating people about the joys of having a house rabbit(s) companion and promoting care that will give those companions the best chance at a happy, healthy, long life.
Bunny Lu also provides temporary foster care to abandoned and neglected rabbits and arranges adoptions into loving, indoor, forever homes. While we do not condone the surrendering of rabbits, we understand that providing assistance to those people trying to improve their rabbits' quality of life sometimes requires finding a new home for the rabbits.
