My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.

I am not even sure how to start this story because my heart just feels sad for MERCEDES.  First let's start with that name, her personality is quiet yet loving and cuddly and friendly with humans and other dogs.  She is not a MERCEDES, any ideas what her new name can be to start her new life?

Yep, we are helping her start a new life.  The pictures are her freedom pictures taken as she left ACS, our very high kill local shelter.  She looks scared and she probably is a little afraid and very confused as to where she is headed now.

I am so happy to have her.  She was adopted from the shelter with her sister in December 2023 and picked up twice as strays roaming the streets.  Just 6 months and their owners leave them outside to roam without supervision and fend from themselves. AUGH!

Even though she was very bonded with her sister, ACS allowed them to be adopted separately, MERCEDES was left behind in that cold, noisy, scary kennel by herself.

MERCEDES is 3 1/2 years old and 15 pounds.  She would not mind having a doggy playmate but would also enjoy just hanging in the house with you as a total inside dog.  She is crate trained, completely potty trained and house trained, very obedient and very little maintenance on a daily basis.

Help us make this girl's story have a happy ending, first by sending in suggestions for a new name and 2nd by submitting an application on the website below to adopt her.  Thank you.

ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED

Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE.

We transport across the United States.

Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption.

Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.

More about this rescue

We are a home based foster rescue organization, we do not have a shelter. All of our dogs are in private foster homes where they are healthy and socially active. We are better able to explain their personality and behavior.
We rescue dogs from the streets of San Antonio, Texas who have been dumped and abandoned as well as pull them from our very high kill city shelter. We also rescue dogs from surrounding counties and take owner surrenders.
We rescue dogs because of the passion in our hearts to help the voiceless when they need help the most. We are rewarded with great, happy and grateful dogs.
