My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walter aka Wally is a 12 pound, 4-5 yr old Terrier mix. He looks like a Scottie but due to his small size he is likely mixed with Yorkie or some other small terrier breed.

This handsome little guy ended up at the pound as a stray but was never claimed. That may be a good thing as he appeared to have been neglected for quite a while. His coat was long and matted. His mouth was a mess with infected, loose teeth. Wally had 16 teeth removed during his dental procedure. He also tested positive for Lyme Disease which is a bacterial infection. He was treated with antibiotics and is doing great!

Walter loves people, likes to cuddle and roll over for belly rubs. He is playful and loves his toys! He likes to play in the yard and has learned to “fetch”.

Walter is living with 3 other dogs in his foster home but we have learned that Walter can be reactive and “dog selective” so a meet and greet and proper introduction is a must with him. He would do well as an only dog. He is not cat tested.

House-trained.
Crate-trained.
No chewing or destructive behaviors.
Knows some commands.
Walter is very “vocal” as can be typical for terriers.

Walter likes to go for walks. He pulls on leash so a no-choke harness is recommended and will be provided to adopter. A fenced yard is recommended since he likes to run and play but not required.

If you think Walter would be a good fit for your family the first step is to complete an application on our website at:
