Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Roger is a handsome boy who is silly, sweet, and happy. He's a social little love who has the cutest greetings, happy dances, and excited spins. Roger loves going on walks, saying hi to people, and having them talk to him in a sweet voice (especially when a treat comes soon after!). He loves being included in activities with his humans, which is easy enough given his petite size!
Roger has been okay with other dogs, but will do well as a solo dog where he can get ALL of the attention. He's very food motivated and this active senior is very trainable. Roger will come to you when he wants pets and attention, and he will do best in a home with someone who understands his independent nature, his need for space, and quirks about being picked up without first gaining his permission. No cats or kids for Roger, please.
Roger has low to medium energy. He's a very chill boy when he wants, but if you're going on a walk or have another activity, he's always down to join you. He thrives on a consistent schedule and would do great in a home with an owner who enjoys relaxing time just as much as play time.
If you are looking for a bestie that will bring you lots of laughs and who is eager to please, apply to adopt Roger today!

ALIVE Rescue is a sustainable animal rescue group committed to protecting the lives and rights of animals. We believe that every animal has the right to a well-balanced, socialized and fulfilled life. We take on the responsibility to save, rehabilitate and place abandoned, abused and stray animals. Our rescue permanently houses and cares for the animals that cannot be placed into forever homes for the duration of their natural lives. We provide medical, behavioral and physical support for animals despite their age, health, and/or breed. At ALIVE Rescue, we promote sustainable living and care-giving by building awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals and the environment within our communities. We constantly work to educate the public on current animal issues, including the benefits of spaying/neutering pets.
Since our formation in 2008, ALIVE Rescue has rescued more than 1,600 animals in the Chicago area.
