My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm a strapping big guy named 'Lola the Man'! The person that helped me get to CAWS thought I was a pregnant female but turned out I was neutered male with a bit of a tummy. Lola just stuck, so that's my name. I like it & know it; I'll even come when I'm called. I thought I didn't like other cats but I live with them now in my foster home & they're OK. I think that I'd prefer to be your only cat though because I get a bit jealous & possessive of my foster mom. My best life may be to be a single cat with my single human. I've been around a dog in the past & reportedly liked it. I don't like little humans but over 12 years old & gentle may be OK. I like to play, get a little goofy with catnip and I absolutory love any kind of cat treats; almost as much as I love getting pets & attention. My foster mom says that one of the most distinctive things about me is the way that 'stomp' rather than walk quietly like most cats. Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
