My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Serena is an amazing, affectionate girl. She is a sometimes-cuddler but always enjoys pets and attention from her people. She gets along great with other cats and can tolerate co-existing with small dogs. We are working on big dogs but I think she has made enough progress that she could learn to live with a very tolerant, respectful dog in no time. She has adjusted to each new friend, feline and canine, that we have introduced her to and she has only proven how amazing she is each time! Serena would love a house with other kitties and is respectful and low energy enough to do really well with an older cat who might be less interested in a rambunctious kitten. She has never had crazy kitten energy, even when she was tiny, and is just a chill little lady. She would thrive in a calmer household but she does enjoy kids as long as they are gentle and calm with her. She is a very low maintenance girl, happy and content to do her own thing and content to entertain herself and just chill most of the time.
IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.

Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport

We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 9, 2024, 9:15 pm

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
