My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pansy is a delightful 6-year-old, 30-pound Pomsky with a lot of love to give. With her unique mix of Pomeranian and Husky, she's not only adorable but also full of personality.

Pansy is a chatty and charming dog who loves to engage with her human friends. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she's a curious explorer who enjoys looking out the window and observing the world.

Pansy is almost fully house-trained and, in the meantime, uses pee pads. Initially hesitant on the leash, she quickly becomes an enthusiastic walker who loves meeting other dogs and people. Be prepared for long walks and lots of attention! Pansy gets along well with other dogs, making her a great addition to a family. She thrives in a patient household willing to continue her training and help her feel secure and loved.

We are gradually introducing Pansy to different foods and discovering her preferences. Her new family will need to continue this journey to ensure she gets the best nutrition. Pansy would flourish in a patient and loving home ready to invest time in her training and care. She is a wonderful companion who will bring joy and love to her forever family.

If you think you're the right match for Pansy, please contact us to learn more about this sweet girl. She's ready to find her forever home and become your loyal companion!

Pansy is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.

Pansy is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
