My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Macaroon is a 2-year-old female chihuahua terrier mix and weighs about 10lb. She is very sweet but wasn't socialized well and can be timid around people.

Macaroon is in a foster home with a lot of other dogs to play with. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and will need another playful dog in the home. She's submissive, and having an older/same age dog that doesn't mind showing her the ropes would good.

Macaroon has done phenomenally well in foster care. She's curious and wants to be loved by people, but she's still timid to start. Macaroon is the most confident when there are other dogs around. She'll approach you for pets but will shy away and come right back. It more the initial reaction that she shys away from.

She's active when someone wants to play, but can also be independent and hang on the couch when everyone is busy. Her foster siblings love being in the backyard, but Macaroon will come in and sit on the couch when she's done being outdoors. If there's a party in the house, you might find her sitting by herself on her bed, just chillin'.

An outdoor yard isn't necessary but will need to be fully fenced if your home has a yard. She's a home body and like to stick close to the house.

She loves toys of any kind and relaxing on the couch. Her coat is short and curly and wiry! She's loves treats and has a very good appetite.

If you're looking for a sweetie cutie but shy and playful, she's your girl!

She is house-trained and sleeps in a kennel at night.

Macaroon is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
