My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sabastian an Australian Yorkshire Terrier. Sabastian is a retired breeder born October 1, 2017. In spite of the traumatic life in a puppy mill, he is incredibly resilient. He has been taking treats from my hand since the first day he was rescued. Sabastian is apprehensive but not as skiddish as many released breeders. On a couple of occasions he did come when called, but generally will wait to be picked up. He responds very well to stay command. Even though he isn't as determined to escape, any released breeders are a flight risk; therefore a fenced yard is required. He does well with small dogs. Interaction with large dogs, cats, and children is unknown . He is pretty good with pad training, and working on outdoor potty training. He is starting to respond to leash walking. He has been neutered on June 26, 2024 and up to date on vaccines. Sabastian is 10 lbs of sweetness and is being fostered by Vicki S in Kenosha Wisconsin. Adoption fee (thru Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue) is $450.

More about this rescue

Tiny Paws Small Dog Rescue was born out of my love for small dogs and desire to help those in need, and in memory of the loss of a dear family member. Dealing frequently with small breed puppies and retired breeder moms, we strive to find homes that are aware of the commitment to raising a small breed dog and to the patience needed in socializing and housebreaking a retired breeder mom who has no idea what life in a home is all about. We are foster home based and are always looking for new foster homes to help us continue our love of rescuing dogs in need. We are happy to assist in owner surrender placements, especially those in need of surrendering their small dogs due to financial hardships, loss of a loved one, or dog owner entering assisted living facilities or nursing homes. We pride ourselves with a thorough search for that perfect home for a dog in need and follow up with phone calls to ensure things are going well. Tiny Paws will take back an adopted dog should the need arise within a reasonable notice and an available foster home has an open spot. Our goal is to someday own a building to house even more canine companions in need. We look forward to helping you find your family pet.
