My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet, gentle Tucker is searching for forever love, a kind and caring family that is ready to be absolutely adored. He loves to kiss, cuddle and shower his people in affection in any way possible. Tucker is cat tolerant, dog friendly and kid friendly, and could live in just about any animal lover’s home. This boy is also a FAST learner, and SO eager-to-please, food motivated and so trainable. Such a good dog!

Meet Tucker, a 1 year old German Shepherd/Lab mix (we think- it's always a guess with rescue) who’s ready to steal your heart! Weighing in at a perfect and snuggly 50 pounds, Tucker is 100% lap dog.

Meet Tucker, and hear from his foster mom here: https://youtu.be/LbQZY0w7BMA?si=hU5SGat_qYEIaSLk

Tucker absolutely adores people and is always up for some belly rubs. Here at the rescue, Tucker will methodically walk around the room getting a pet from each person, giving big puppy kisses along the way. He’s a treat connoisseur with a special love for carrots and blueberries, pig ears and bully sticks. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, especially those who share his gentle play style. Tucker takes correction from other dogs well, and has met dogs ranging from puppy to senior, and gets along well with all of them. Plus, he’s cat tolerant! See his cat tests for yourself in his adoption video.

Tucker has lived in a foster home for months now, and has gained plenty of “good dog” skills. He knows the command "kennel" and sleeps in a crate at his foster family’s house. Tucker is good in the car, he loads up into cars quickly and easily, and while you’re on the road, Tucker doesn’t roam, whine or bark!

Tucker is kid friendly and has spent time with kids as young as three. He’s very gentle and sweet with them, no pushy paws or hard tail thwacks, but lots of kisses!

Tucker loves chewing on horns and antlers, and playing with anything that squeaks, making playtime an absolute blast! Tucker does settle down pretty quickly after playtime, this boy is growing into such a good dog! He’s looking for a family who will give him lots of love, and fun. Could that be you?

Adopt Tucker today and start your adventure with a loyal, loving friend by your side! We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2-acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs, and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family
Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non- profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
