My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Mr Westley” – Young male Chihuahua /Westie/Jack Russell mix, (approx. 1.5~2 years old), 6-8#. Busy little guy seeking new home. Currently in foster care as his owners changed jobs and is now out of the area 4 days a week. Shots updated, health checked, blood testing, etc. This little guy is seeking a new family as he has found himself alone and kenneled too many days.

He comes into the program as one happy little guy who is well on his way toward socialized, leash trained, who would like nothing more than a new bed to snooze on and a yard to keep rodent free. He is a happy and gentle four-legged partner. He is house trained, LOVES humans but need extra time for new introductions. He is looking for a partner for power walks and couch snoozing. Great road trip partner, beach walker, sidewalk patrol captain, toy tugger, and general all-around good boy. He can jump into your arms.

Best Home: High activity with lots of power walks.

√ No little Kids
√ Fenced Yard and/or power walker
√ Lots of energy
√ Ball player
√ Will sleep in your lap
√ House trained

Westley says: “I need a new home as my dad got transferred. Lots of tears on both our parts as I loved them too. Now to my requirements for my next life:

I would like to have a great home with a human or two to pet me and be my best buddy. I like to play with toys (I am a great ball retriever) so the more the merrier. I am a very good-looking guy as my mom was a Westie but she thinks my dad was a Jack Russel or was he a Chihuahua? Mom was not certain. I am the result of that rendezvous. I love to be by your side in a chair or even better a couch. I love to travel in the car. I would like a window seat near the driver.

As a little guy, I will guard you from other dogs and strangers. Once we have a 20 min intro, I am accepting of “newbies”. I have my very own new leash and collar. All I need is YOU and a new bed. A fenced in yard to explore would be wonderful too! Call now as I will be a super best buddy, chair cuddle, and TV watching buddy at night.

I like sleeping in my crate as it is my “house”.

Call Uncle Stephen today to arrange a visit. Hurry as I would like to get started on sucking up to my new owners and catching up on my beauty sleep.

Location: Currently in foster care in Northern VA area.

Breed Standards: Chihuahua is a tiny dog with a huge personality. A national symbol of Mexico, these alert and amusing "purse dogs" stand among the oldest breeds of the Americas, with a lineage going back to the ancient kingdoms of pre-Columbian times. The Chihuahua is a balanced, graceful dog of terrier-like demeanor, weighing in at around 6-8 pounds. The rounded "apple" head is a breed hallmark. The erect ears and full, luminous eyes are acutely expressive. Coats come in many colors and patterns, and can be long or short. The varieties are identical except for coat. Chihuahuas possess loyalty, charm, and big-dog attitude. Even tiny dogs require training, and without it this clever scamp will rule your household like a little Napoleon. Compact and confident, Chihuahuas are ideal city pets. They are too small for roughhousing with kids, and special care must be taken in cold weather, but Chihuahuas are adaptable as long as they get lots of quality time in their preferred lap.
