My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A volunteer writes:
Panther joined us at the Manhattan Care Center with friends Gil, Tyson and Couscous as their owner passed away. Panther looks so sad...This is a drastic change happening in his senior years and his way to deal with it is to stay put, crouch in a corner of his kennel, sit out the storm and hope that something good will happen. Panther is a beautiful long hair kitty, an ebony fluffy cloud, soft to the touch and I love to pet his gently leaning head. He is clearly wary but I trust that his sweet nature will surface as he sees our efforts to make him feel better. Panther would be shy with strangers but played gently with a visiting grand daughter. He was very friendly and outgoing with his housemates, loved to be brushed, played well with toys and was very affectionate with his owner. Panther will likely bloom in the hands of a loving new owner. May be adopting him along with one of his friends could make the transition easier. Panther is already neutered and could go home today.

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

Panther tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.
