My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Little baby Lemonade is only around 3 months old and she'd be so happy to have a loving home to grow up in! She was one of several kittens that came to us after being rescued from the city streets. Lemonade has not had much experience with the ways of the world so she is still quite timid meeting new people. Once you pet her and give her a little reassurance, she just wants to soak up all the attention you'll give her, and she even begins purring. She will need time to adjust to a new home though, as everything is brand new to her. Lemonade would benefit greatly from being with another kitten or cat that she can lean on for comfort and confidence, and that she can learn from too. She is hoping you'll welcome her home and show her what the good life is all about! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#73504 6/18/24

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
