Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rue, the Australian Shepherd. He’s about 8 months old & 31 lbs. He was found locally as a stray & has been an easy addition to his foster family. He loves to play & has Aussie energy and anxiety. We anticipate he wasn’t well treated before we found him. Therefore he can be skittish and shy at first & new sights/sounds/people make him nervous but he adjusts quickly! He is fully housebroken (minus some submissive tickles). Rue is working on crate training but would prefer nothing more than being with his people all the time but does well with boundaries. He truly is a lovebug- Rue wants nothing more than to soak up all the love he lacked early on!
He would do best in a home with another playmate his size &/or energy level. Older or super dog-savvy children are recommended- due to jumping. We will also be looking for a home with a yard suitable for his breed. When another dog on a leash was left unattended, Roo picked up the leash and walked the dog around the yard as cute as can be. When introduced to a person, Roo is very cautious, and lies down when approached,
Rue has been in a home with big and little dogs as well as cats— and only pays attention to the ones that like him! When introduced to a person, Roo is very cautious, and lies down when approached,
If you’ve been looking for your new best fur friend to enjoy the summer with… look no further, Rue is your guy!!
Roo is HW negative, has all his vaccines, and neutered.. Rue is being fostered in Richmond VA by FLOP(For The Love Of Poodles and Pooches)
For more information on Rue you can email sueroed@aol.com or fill out an application at https://floprva.org/adoption-application/
